A professional wedding photographer in Orange County should always have his best shoe game on during a wedding photo shoot. Shoes may be the last thing on your mind as a wedding photographer but the truth of the matter is that it is one of the most important things for you to think about during a wedding shoot. It helps to remind yourself time and time again that you are going to be living in those shoes for roughly around 12 hours, give or take. That is an awful lot of time, when you come to think about it.
You need to make sure that no matter what happens, you will be able to get things checked out the right way for as far as your shoes are concerned. You need a pair of shoes that will allow you to comfortably walk and run around all day without making you feel as if you would want to cut your feet off somewhere in the process. Heels are out of the question. There are tons of shoe options out there that will allow you to look good without compromising comfort.
Handle snap shooters
Snap shooters can be a bit of a problem when you are shooting as someone’s wedding photographer in Peterborough. There will always be people during the wedding who might end up getting in the way at some point or so. This is something that you seriously need to do something about when it all comes down to it. You cannot afford to have them ruin your shoot just because they want to take their own photos and they have the freedom to do so. At the end of the day, you are the main wedding photographer for the wedding. You need to get your job done the right way no matter what happens. Diplomacy will turn out to be your best take on things like this. Explain things to them the right way. Make sure that you get to maintain composure and politeness all throughout the time that you are dealing with them. Like this Orange County wedding photographer, do not allow yourself to lose control of your emotions. Give them some time in between shoots so that they can take care of what they need to take care of without getting in the way.
Pay attention to the things that you discuss to your clients before the signing of the wedding photography deal. Even if your clients proceed to sign the contract that you have presented to them, if you did not take the time to really explain everything in detail, there might be some clauses or provisions in there that might end up surprising them one way or the other. This is what you need to do something about when it all comes down to it. Always explain things to them page by page. Address or answer any questions they might have in real time and make sure that nothing hits them like a curve ball by the end of the agreement.
When wedding photographers are having discussions with clients about the wedding photography agreement that is about to go down, it is very important to be quite upfront and quite on the ball when it comes to the issue of the budget. As a wedding photographer, this may be something that you may initially feel embarrassed about at the beginning but this is something that you will eventually get the hang of when it all comes down to it.

What you need to understand is the fact that it really is quite different for different people. The kind of approach that worked for the rest of your friends who are also wedding photographers may not exactly turn out to work just the same for you as well. Be ready to take on challenges that come along the way and try to tailor fit it based on your personality and on your particular circumstances.
Some clients have unrealistic expectations based on the kind of budget that they bring in.
Make it a point to really let them understand the realities of how wedding photographers price their services and why this is reasonable and necessary. If the client is unwilling to listen and adamant about the kind of pricing that they would like to go with but it is not something that you will be able to go ahead and work out on your end, then there’s really no need for you to waste time on it. Move on the next prospect but make sure that you are polite and that you are professional in handling that particular client all throughout the time that you are going through with the discussion.
Try to ask if the client hired a wedding planner to take care of the rest of the details for the wedding.
Most of the wedding photographers like this north wales wedding photographer are quite happy to find out if there is a wedding planner that they can go ahead and work with because this will make things so much simpler to follow through with. You don’t have to end up having to walk on eggshells when it comes to dealing with the clients and you will be able to get all of the info that you can possibly need without having to exert too much effort in probing because what you can be quite rest assured of is the fact that the wedding planner will lay it out for you in black and white.
The aspect of gathering the info that you need in order for you to be able to get your job done as a wedding photographers is not that hard to pull off. Taking portrait shots for weddings is not always a walk in the park.
There are a lot of things that you will need to keep in mind all of the time as a wedding photographer. You will also need to make sure that you get to have a trick or so up your sleeve every once in a while. What this means is that you need to constantly think and rethink about your approach and your strategies when it all comes down to it and that can be quite a tough feat to go through with as a wedding photographer.
There are so many different ideas and techniques that it can all be quite confusing when you go through them all at once. Creativity is always different for everyone. What may work out well for one person or one wedding photographer may not exactly work for you and your current situation and that is something that you will need to be careful about one way or the other. However, as with all of the other things in the universe, there are basic principles that you will definitely be able to rely on every single time. These basic principles are something that you can more or less go back to if you would like to keep things simple and right on the dot.
Over expose your portrait shots.
One technique that you can employ that will always work well in the portrait shoots is the process of over exposure. Over expose your portrait shots as much as possible. As a wedding photographer, it can at times be a bit difficult to have an actual fixed and formal setting for the portrait shots that you will have to take one way or the other. You need to remind yourself that there are a lot of people attending the wedding. It can sometimes be tough to try to get some privacy for your portrait shots. You might end up with weird looking portraits with a lot of unknowing photo bombers. It will make your shots look amateur. Over exposing your shots or making the illumination bit brighter than usual will help you out in really putting the focus on the subject of your portrait shots and in drowning out the rest of the background behind and around the subject.
You need to learn how to employ this particular technique.
You need to make sure that your execution is perfect or you end up ruining your shot altogether. Try to read up on articles and other tutorials online if you are a new wedding photographer and you don’t really know where to start things off with this. The internet really is quite rich in various sources that you can use at your disposal. It really all comes down to how resourceful you can be and to how willing you are when it comes to learning the process of over exposing your shots. It is basically one of the most crucial techniques that you will ever get to learn as a wedding photographer somerset and you will really be able to use it well in the portrait taking session of wedding photography.
Before you go ahead and agree to be someone’s wedding photographer, you need to make sure that you are able to work on managing their expectations at first. This is something that you should really be particular with at the beginning of any wedding photography agreement and this isn’t the kind of thing that you should be rushing into when it all comes down to it. The way that your clients see the turnout of your services as a wedding photographer can dictate how they will talk about you to the rest of their other friends and acquaintances.
When clients are ecstatic about the results of the kind of work that you get to do for them as a wedding photographer, they will not be all that shy at all about talking you up to the people they know and this could mean more potential clients up your pipeline somewhere in the future. It’s the kind of thing that can turn out to be extremely great for business and for your career as a professional wedding photographer so always work on being able to manage their expectations right from the start. Any surprises or any curve balls that might have your clients thinking that they are being short changed in any way, shape or form can have extremely bad repercussions and they can quickly backfire and that’s why you should always try to see if this is something that you can take care of right then and there.
Talk about their visions
Talk to them about the things that they are envisioning to have in their wedding photography coverage and try to see if you can match those things up with the kind of services that you offer out to your clients as a professional London wedding photographer. One thing that you should be paying attention to in particular is the timeline that you promise out to your clients. If you state a certain date or timeline, make sure that it is something that you will be able to follow through on one way or the other.
Edit them right
You have to keep in mind that your clients will always be overly excited with the way that their wedding photos turned out. What this means is that you should not put in too much gap between the date of the wedding and the time that you deliver the final finished touched up photos. The moment that you are done with the shooting of the wedding, you should tell yourself that it’s already crunch time and that you have a very limited window to go ahead and edit the photos and touch them up according to your artistic perfection. You will be dealing with hundreds and hundreds of pictures here which you will have to deal with in a very short period of time so don’t dilly dally and don’t procrastinate. Work on things as swiftly as you can and try to see if you can over deliver on your promised timeline. That’s always a surefire way of impressing your clients, after all.
A priority that you will need to really set aside as much as possible is the need for a second shooter during the wedding photography shoots that you cover. No matter what happens, you can’t allow yourself to go ahead and provide coverage while you are all alone. This is something that is too risky and something that will come across a lot of challenges somewhere along the way. You have to understand the fact that weddings are big events and what this means is that this is not the kind of thing that only one man will be able to cover. Most of the professional wedding photography teams out there actually go through the motions of really bringing in two to three or more people when they have weddings to cover.
Wedding events also usually have hundreds and hundreds of guest and it is impossible for you to cover all alone when it all comes down to it. You really need to at least have a second shooter so that you can help level the task field and so that you will be able to focus more on the important list of shots that you will need to take during the wedding photography shoot. Hiring out a second shooter during the wedding photography shoot can cost high for someone who is just starting out and that is why a lot of new wedding photographers dorset out there are struggling with it.
There is one solution to the second shooter issue that you can easily have for your predicament though.
You can actually hire out a second shooter for your wedding photography shoots without having to spend too much money in the process. Talk to the other wedding photographers out there who might also be in need of a second shooter during their wedding photography shoots and try to see if you will be able to exchange services with them. Offer to be the second shooter in their wedding photography bookings and in return, they should be the second shooter in yours as well. This will ensure that you will get to have something that is mutually beneficial to both parties without costing you a little too much. Either join any forums in your area or any wedding photography groups so that you will be able to reach out to all of the right social circles and so that you will be able to tap into these contacts at some point or so.
Don’t ever allow yourself to run out of memory space or of camera batteries.
Prepare your memory cards well ahead of time and ensure that you have at least twice of the memory space that you have intended to use when it all comes down to it. Make sure that your memory cards are wiped clean after every time you are able to use them so that you will be able to make sure that they are always in the best possible shape all of the time. You should also make sure that your camera batteries are all fully charged whenever you have a wedding photography shoot to cover.
It can be quite common for wedding photographers in general to constantly feel as if they don’t have enough time to get all of their tasks done especially during the busy season. If you are a fairly new wedding photographer who still has not experienced the busy and hectic days that most wedding photographers are plagued with, then you really ought to brace yourself.
Prepare for it as much as possible because it will happen.
Time is one of the most precious commodities out there and with good reason. You can only do so much at a certain timeframe. This is something that becomes doubly difficult for entrepreneurs like you you handle and manage their business single-handedly. And yes, pursuing a career as a wedding photographer is considered as a business at a certain degree so you do belong to the category, in case you’re wondering. This is where the concept of outsourcing comes in. The long and short of it is that you basically hire other people to help you cover the scope of responsibilities that you obviously cannot cover all alone.
Professional wedding photographers always make sure that they get some help.
Weddings are huge events to cover. The tasks that come along with the coverage can be quite overwhelming and almost impossible for you to accomplish all on your own so don’t it and aim your focus on being able to bring together a great team to help you out with your endeavors instead. You can also look for inspiration from websites like www.e-motionimages.co.uk/.
Be careful with the hiring process.
Keep in mind that you are still governed by the laws of your particular area. Hiring someone full time means that there are certain guidelines that you will need to adhere to and satisfy such as the benefits, the payroll rate, the taxes, and so on and so forth. This requires commitment both from the employee as well as from you, the employer. This also means that you need to establish a fairly steady pipeline of potential clients in order for you to sustain enough income to fund payroll for your employees.
If you would like to start small and if you don’t really have something as big as that going for you just yet, another option you can explore that other wedding photographers have tried out as well is sourcing the local universities by offering internships. There should be a certain time structure for the length of the internship so make sure that you are pretty clear about that. It costs less compared to hiring a full time employee but there is a lot of paperwork required during the process. It can be a really rewarding experience though and something that you should definitely try out.
Give a crash course
When you are outsourcing, make it a point to give them a crash course or some kind of training regarding how you would like to get things done. It will take care of all of the guess work that goes on in between and it will put you and your employee or intern on a fairly level playing field.
Most of the wedding photographers in the industry today have started on their own and they started from scratch. If you are trying to find your way into making it in the wedding photography world by pursuing your passion for photography, you are not alone. Sometimes, it can be a good thing. It means that you will be able to learn from the rest of the wedding photographers who have gone ahead of you when it all comes down to it.
Move forward and never backwards
When you are in the aspect of really working it out, there will be a lot of times wherein you will feel as if you are trying to find your rhythm by can’t. There will also be a lot of times wherein the going just tends to get tougher and tougher. It all starts with the techniques that you bring into it. As a wedding photographer, your technical game should be pretty strong. This means that whatever you know now is not a perfect knowledge of truth. There will always be ways for you to add on to that at some point or so. You need to make sure that you are always moving forward and never moving back if you want to progress and to be able to compete with the rest of the other wedding photographers out there.
One thing that can really help you out a lot when it comes to improving you craft is in the aspect of getting feedback for your previous works. This is a pretty good embodiment of where you are right now as a wedding photographer. That’s why it’s always great to have a good group of friends from the photography industry. They will be your voices of reason and of reality when it comes down to the gauging of your output as well as of your skills as a wedding photographer.
Seek to get feedback
Always seek to get feedback for the kind of work that you are able to do so that you will be able to steer yourself as well as your career towards the right direction at the end of the day. This is no easy feat, especially for a beginner wedding photographer. The kind of feedback that you hear may not always be positive. Given the fact that you are still a newbie, it means that you have miles to go before you get to a point wherein you will be regarded as a true professional and expert in your craft. There will be a lot of stops and blockages somewhere along the way but you shouldn’t let this hinder you or get you down. Take all of this with a grain of salt and move on, with that new knowledge in mind.
Make it a point to give out surveys to your clients whenever you deliver your finished photos.
You need to know what they think and how they see the output. Ask them what they would have changed if they will be able to change anything or something similar to that line of thought. This will give you a pretty good idea about what works for your clients and what doesn’t.
Be passionate for your craft and for what you do as a wedding photographer.
This at times seems to sound like something that is cheesy, overrated and a bit cliché at times but it is something that will really get to go a long why when it comes to the longevity of your career as a wedding photographer. Constantly look out for fresh ideas or for new takes on things as much as possible. Be innovative with what you do and with how you do things as well. Don’t look at your career as a wedding photographer as just another dead end job that will at least help you pay the bills because you know you are not that kind of professional. You really took a gamble when it comes to pursuing your dreams as a wedding photographer and that is something that you should give yourself a small pat on the back for every day.
Read up on blogs and on the social media feeds of the wedding photographers who have gone before you and who constantly inspire you and motivate you to be better at what you do and to constantly re-imagine the ways that you do things in wedding photography. Constantly push yourself to do better than how you did yesterday. Challenge yourself all of the time and you can be rest assured that you will never be bored all throughout your career as a wedding photographer when it all comes down to it.
Embrace failure at the beginning.
You won’t break out into the wedding industry scene as a wedding photographer who just all of a sudden came out of nowhere and started booking one big wedding event after the other. As much as you would like something easy like that to pan out, it doesn’t always work that way. You need to be patient with yourself as well as with the progress that your career as a wedding photographer is taking on. No one becomes an overnight success when it all comes down to it. You need to make sure that you are able to invest a lot of hard work, time, effort and more importantly, patience, before you will get anywhere near your goal to be a great wedding photographer just yet. Give yourself a few years or so and even then, just keep working at it because what you can be rest assured of is the fact that your passion is something that will see you through the tough times and that you will eventually be able to make it as a wedding photographer.
Be appreciative of the things that make you unique or that make you stand out as a wedding photographer.
Don’t aim to be just like everyone else. Individuality is one of the best ways for you to be able to make sure that you will get to carve your own path as a unique and refreshingly different wedding photographer dundee when it all comes down to it. Embrace the things that make you different and you will never go wrong.
If you have been working on improving your photography skills for quite a while now, then it will definitely come as no surprise if you will be approached by certain people who have noticed your photography prowess to as you if you are more or less willing to cover certain events for them in exchange for a certain service fee. This is probably the best time for you to seriously think about it and seriously consider if this is a passion or a hobby that you are willing to pursue professionally.
One of the most lucrative areas or niches out there would have to be the niche of wedding photography. You have to really think things through and prepare accordingly before you agree to anything though. Although it can be quite flattering and although it can be considered as a huge opportunity for the bride and groom to hire you for a huge project such as the wedding photography coverage or their wedding, it is something that technically comes with a lot of responsibilities as well. You need to take all of the necessary steps in order for you to make sure that you are able to learn everything that there is to learn about wedding photography before you say yes to anything and anyone.
Create a must have shot list for the important moments or shots that you will need to take during the wedding event.
One of the most common arguments in between clients and wedding photographers is the issue ofthe missed shots during the wedding day. This is something that can take a really ugly turn and can possibly damage your relationship with your clients forever. You have to remind yourself that the wedding day only happens once and there is no way for you to turn back time to go back and attempt to fix any missed shots in the process. You should avoid this as much as you possibly can.
Meet with the bride and the groom well ahead of time.
List the important items that they think should be a part of your wedding photography coverage. This will eliminate any points of disputes in the future. Keep the list with you and make sure that you are able to more or less follow through on that list all throughout the wedding day event. Over time, you will notice that this is something that you will tend to get better and better with. You will even get to a point wherein you will not need to consult the list anymore. However, if you are only starting out on wedding photography, it will be much safer if you are able to stick to the list until you are able to find sure footing in being comfortable without it.
Get a wedding photo coordinator.
One of the most chaotic aspects of having to shoot a wedding event would have to be the family photos. The reason why this can be hard to a wedding photographer essex is because you do not know who most of those people are. The easy way around it is asking the bride for a coordinator from her side of the family and doing the same for the groom. That way, you have people barking out orders to the other people while you quietly work on getting your shots together.
Wedding videography is basically a challenging and interesting business to get into. You will need a lot of work as well as a lot of resourcefulness if this is anything that you would like to thrive in one way or the other. While you are covering the wedding event, have your second shooter go around and ask the rest of the vendors such as the florists, wedding planners, caterers, and so on and so forth. Ask for the business cards of everyone there and collate their contact info.
Ideally, as your experience grows and as you go ahead and cover more and more weddings, your contacts list will basically grow even more. You should have a scrapbook or a sort of catalogue wherein you can categorize your contacts list based on the kind of service that they provide. More than that, you will have all of your information intact for when you are writing down your vendors list at the bottom of your blog once you cover the wedding. You will also be able to bring in a lot of business through referrals.
Be agile and only carry gear that you absolutely need.
Be on your move all of the time. Walk around a lot and try out a lot of different angles and perspectives as much as you possibly can so that you will be able to get the most interesting points of view and angles as well. Prepare all of the gear that you need but make sure that you technically only bring those that you need. If you over pack, you will be lugging around too much gear and that may not be too friendly for your back. Bring only the absolute requirements such as your camera, your second camera, your tripod, your various lenses, memory cards and extra camera batteries, and a high quality camera bag that will bring all of your gear tomorrow.
Always have backups for your audio.
Audio is extremely important for your wedding videography craft. Bring along some spare external audio recorders so that you are able to guarantee getting an audio in the best possible audio ever. If the bride and the groom have hired a DJ, try to get in touch with that DJ and ask if you can use his equipment for your backup audio.
Traditional wedding shots are must-haves.
Even the new and trendier couples out there who would like to have an alternative perspective for their wedding videography approach would still want to have their traditional wedding moments captured intact. Make sure that you do not forget about any of those. As a matter of fact, you would need to have a list of all of the important shots that you would have to take and keep that said list with you as much as you possibly can.
Camera stabilization is crucial.
You need to bring in a tripod, period. Panning and stabilization is so much easier for when you are shooting the wedding video newcastle.
As a wedding photographer, you will be required to compose a blog every once in a while. This is a challenge that you will have to face time and time again and a challenge that you will need to learn to overcome no matter what the odds. You are probably at a loss about where you should begin. Perhaps the most important way for you to start would be to understand what the blog is for to begin with. Although it may be true that the material that you are to blog about should be how you were able to provide coverage for the weddings of your previous clients; you are not writing the blog with them in mind nor are you writing the blog for the sake of posterity.
The main goal is far more strategic and far more lucrative than something as small and sentimental as posterity. Your main goal is to reach out to possible future clients and show them just what you are capable off. A blog is similar to a blazing billboard ad showing the populace that you basically have the best product in town.
Start off with a title that is pretty simple enough.
Include the first names of the bride and of the groom. Add in the name of the venue. And finally, top it off with the actual location of the wedding. This is easy enough to remember but more importantly, this is something that will work extremely well for search engine optimization. If people put in any searches that match up to anything in your title, you will surely get traffic redirected to your site.
You will need to develop your writing skills.
That is if you are looking into expanding your wedding photographer Cheshire skills and reaching out from a business perspective. You have to see your blog posts as your main portals to market your products and your services. You should make sure that you go well out of your way in making your content high quality enough for the readers to appreciate enough to the point wherein they would like to hire you. If you are a bit bad at writing, have solace in the fact that most people usually are and that is no need for you to worry about.
Writing is something that you can learn and something that you can practice on. If you are dedicated enough to really put your efforts into it, it is something that you will definitely be able to improve on in the future. Give yourself time to write. Do not rush your thoughts and do not pressure yourself too much. Think about the message that you would like to convey and start putting words in them. That is usually the best way for you to go.
Work on your image layout as well.
Make it dynamic and interesting yet still organized enough to be able to tell the story that you would like to tell to your readers. Sequence them accordingly and make sure that you tag them. This way, Google will be able to index your images and you will get more redirects to your site.
Wedding photographers should have enough foresight to get a second shooter to accompany them in their wedding photography events. What a lot of wedding photographers mistakenly do is that they try to skip their way out of hiring a second shooter. The reason behind it usually has to do with finances. Hiring someone else just costs too much money at some point especially for those who are just starting out and who has not accumulated enough money just yet. Do your best to see if you can make it happen financially.
If you cannot afford to have another person on your payroll just yet, try to see if you can hammer out a deal wherein you only get to pay him per wedding event that he assists you in. However, despite the looseness of that kind of arrangement, it can still considerably take out a huge chunk out of the income that is coming in and that can be a real issue. It is a requirement though and it comes with a long set of benefits.
Prepare a must have shot list
For one, you will be able to focus more on the must have shot list that you need to comply with and you have enough room to be artistic with your shots because you have a second shooter to pick up the slack one way or the other. Second, you will have a spare camera set in place right then and there for when something happens to your main or primary one.
There is an easy way to hire a second shoot without incurring any costs, mind you. You just have to be creative and resourceful enough to do it. What you can do is you can blast an email out to all of the photographers you know who is in town. Try to go for those who have also just started and who like you, may also be struggling with regards to being able to find enough funds for them to hire a second shooter as well.
Ask photographers like Hampshire wedding photographer if they are willing to exchange services with you, tit for tat. They can cover as a second shooter in your wedding events and in return, you will cover as a second shooter in theirs. It is a perfectly plausible and a mutually beneficial arrangement for two agreeing parties. Make your email as eloquent yet as direct to the point as you can write them out to be. Do your research accordingly and try to network as well as much as you can. Try to hear from the grapevine who the new up and coming photographers are and bring out your offers from there.
Do not allow yourself to run out of juice if you can help it.
What you need to know right here and now is that just one battery will not last you for an entire wedding event’s coverage. You will need far more than that. As a matter of fact, it would be wise if you go ahead and purchase two spare batteries per camera and make sure that they are all fully charged.
Although it may be true that blogging may not be for everyone and there is only a very limited class of people who are able to pull this off seamlessly and actually get to do this for a living, that is not the case for wedding photographers. Whether you may like it or not, you will need to learn how to blog one way or the other because this will serve as the online catalogue for all of the weddings that you have covered so far. A blog is really more of for your future clients. This will serve as marketing material.
Believe it or not, most clients will have most likely made up their decision on whether they are going to hire you or not based from your blog alone. That is the reason why being proficient and being skilled in posting blogs is one of the most important skills that wedding photographers would need to learn other than the stuff that are usually related to actual photography.
There are three main mistakes that wedding photographers slash bloggers usually commit and you should be well aware of what they are so that you do not make them in the process of building up your brand.
Mistake number one: they do not post enough images.
Although it may be true that simplicity is beauty and you should always go straight to the point, your blog deserves something a bit more substantial that just five photos or so smacked together. A decent blog post should have at least fifteen photos – enough to tell a story or enough for you to string together a theme that will technically tell the direction to which your blog is going to.
Mistake number two: they end up posting too many photos.
Too much of a good thing can be a bad thing. The same way works for alternative wedding photography blogging. Do not overdo the image posting part. Sure, you want to be able to tell a complete story but what you do not want is for you to end up being redundant at some point. No one will enjoy watching picture after picture of the same moments or scenarios. Pick a photo per moment and stick to that kind of theme. Yes, you have to tell a full story but you do not have to drag it on in such a way that your readers will end up clicking out before your blog even ends.
Mistake number three: they post all of the images in full size.
Not all of the images deserve the full size treatment. This is something that you should keep in mind all of the time. Imagine the layout of a magazine and try to mimic that. The really important and pivotal photos get to have the full sized treatment whereas the accent images get to be posted in smaller sizes and in batches. This will make your image layout a little bit easier on the eyes and you will be able to avoid a monotonous tone in your posts.
There are so many aspects out there involving wedding photography and it can be a bit of chore to go through and sift through if you are just new to the business and if you are just trying to find your footing at some point. Breaking out in the wedding photography industry is a tough thing to do and being a London wedding photographer is also an extremely tough job to do. The competition is tough. These days, there are so many wedding photography experts that are emerging and up and coming. The good news though is that it is something that you can actually get into one way or the other. The customer base is something that does not dry out (because people get married all the time at some point in their lives) and they are often geographically lined out.
To put things more bluntly, there will always be enough customers for everybody else out there. It is all just a matter of really putting yourself out there and marketing your services. We have included a few talking points about wedding photography that can actually help you out if this is something that you are technically getting started with. That is always the hard part.
You need to make sure that you invest in really great quality and comfortable shoes.
This may be something that can sound a bit trivial at best but at the end of the day, you really do not want to come home with extremely tired and blistered feet. Wedding photography technically requires a lot of moving around and a lot of walking as well. You have to move from one place to the other and at times even be in different places all at the same time. Word to the wise, ditch the stilettos or anything that has to do with heels (same goes for the guys, just kidding) and opt for the more comfortable but equally just as classy ones. Your feet will thank you at the end of the day. As a matter of fact, you might even thank you, if you know how that goes.
Learn how to manage the crowd.
The truth of the matter is that there will always be that one unwelcome guest or relative who will want to be in all of the photos, even if it is something that is not really that appropriate. You need to make sure that you learn how to manage the crowd. Be firm and fairly clear when it comes to the point that you would like to come across but you do not want to come off as someone who will end up sounding too authoritative, bossy, or worse, completely impolite and rude. You want to be savvy with the crowd and show them you’re a true professional.
Talk to the bride and the groom.
Really go through the details of what they would like to happen in their wedding. Ask them if there are any expectations and honestly disclose if those things are something that you can deliver or not. Be honest and open with your clients and make sure that you are able to establish an honest and good working relationship with them.
